The jointing precision of curved GRC shapes is the core technical indicator that determines the overall integrity and artistic expressiveness of a building's appearance, and the level of its control directly reflects the manufacturer's detailed design capability, manufacturing standards, and on-site installation strength. As the Qinglong Group with 28 years of GRC engineering experience, we believe that the jointing precision of curved GRC is a systematic project that requires coordinated control across three dimensions—"design tolerance, production error, and installation adjustment"—with the ultimate goal of achieving seamless visual connection and smooth transitions. In large double-curved curtain wall projects such as the Nanning New Media Center, Qinglong has ensured the perfect jointing of all irregularly shaped panels through millimeter-level precision control.
The jointing precision requirements for curved GRC are first reflected in the uniformity of panel joint width. Whether for constant-width or variable-width joint designs, the deviation in joint width between adjacent panels must be strictly controlled within ±1.5mm. This is critical for continuous double-curved shapes, as any uneven gaps will destroy the flow of the curved surface. Second is the flatness and height difference of adjacent panel surfaces. When checked with a 2-meter straightedge, the misalignment between adjacent panel surfaces should not exceed 1.5mm, ensuring no noticeable step when touched by hand and no visible shadow break in appearance. For mirror-finish curved surfaces requiring special optical effects, this requirement must even be raised to within 1mm.
Even more critical is the continuity of three-dimensional spatial curvature. This requires that the boundary curves of each GRC component highly match the boundary curves of adjacent components in spatial position, without obvious kinks or abrupt turns. This relies on high-precision three-dimensional digital models and CNC mold machining technology. Qinglong uses total stations and three-dimensional laser scanning technology to verify the curved surfaces after installation, controlling the overall contour error within ±5mm, thereby ensuring that large-scale curved shapes remain smooth and seamless, as if formed in one piece.
Achieving high-precision jointing requires precise coordination among the design, production, and installation stages. In the design stage, BIM technology must be used for virtual pre-assembly to identify and resolve potential interference issues in advance. In the production stage, mold precision is the foundation; Qinglong's five-axis CNC machining centers can guarantee mold surface errors of less than 1mm. In the installation stage, an anchoring system with three-dimensional adjustment capabilities and experienced technicians are required for fine adjustments. Qinglong customizes a dedicated "Installation Precision Control Manual" for each curved-surface project, implementing precision requirements in every operational step to ensure that the final result is highly consistent with the design intent.
