The allowable range of flatness deviation for GRC exterior walls is a key indicator for measuring construction quality and final visual effect, with clear provisions in the national standard "Standard for Quality Acceptance of Building Decoration Engineering" (GB 50210). In actual practice, to meet the ultimate pursuit of architectural quality in high-end projects, Qinglong Group's internal control standards are often stricter than the national standard, requiring the overall flatness of the finished surface to be checked with a 2-meter straightedge, with deviation no greater than 3mm and height difference between adjacent panels no greater than 1.5mm. In Luban Award projects such as the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center, it was precisely this strict control of millimeter-level precision that achieved the mirror-smooth visual effect of the GRC curtain wall.
According to GB 50210, for curtain walls of dry-hanging stone, artificial panels, and similar materials, the allowable deviation for surface flatness is: 2mm when checked with a 2m vertical detection ruler (at panel joints) or 3mm (for the overall facade). The allowable deviation for joint height difference between adjacent panels is 1mm. These standards are the baseline requirements for GRC curtain wall acceptance. For large-area, large-panel GRC curtain walls, meeting these standards requires excellence throughout the entire process, from mold precision and production control to installation adjustment.
Flatness is the ultimate embodiment of the precision of "design, production, and installation." 1) Mold precision: The flatness of the mold is the foundation. Qinglong uses CNC-machined steel molds or fiberglass molds, ensuring that the mold's own flatness error is less than 1mm/2m. 2) Production deformation control: Improper curing regimes can cause component warping. Qinglong minimizes production deformation through in-mold curing, smooth demolding, and standardized stacking. 3) Keel leveling during installation: This is the core of on-site control. Main and secondary keels must be aligned and leveled using stretched guide lines, with their flatness error less than half the allowable deviation of the panel surface, creating favorable conditions for panel hanging. 4) Three-dimensional fine adjustment of panels: Using the three-dimensional adjustment function of back-bolted hangers, each GRC panel is adjusted individually to ensure flushness with adjacent panel surfaces.
Flatness inspection should be performed using a 2-meter straightedge and feeler gauges at different locations on the wall (especially at joints). For areas where local deviation exceeds the allowable limits, the cause should be analyzed. If the problem lies in installation, the hangers can be loosened and readjusted; if the component itself is deformed, it must be replaced. Strict control of flatness is the foundation for a GRC curtain wall to present a refined, modern, high-quality appearance, and it also directly reflects the technical and management capabilities of the construction company.
