The permissible installation tolerance range for UHPC exterior wall panels is a key quality control indicator for ensuring the flat final visual appearance and the structural safety and reliability of the curtain wall system. This tolerance system covers multiple levels, including "framing installation, panel positioning, joint width, and overall flatness". Qinglong Group's corporate standards are even more stringent than the national specification "Building Curtain Walls", requiring the overall flatness deviation of the finished surface to be no more than 3mm/2m, the height difference between adjacent panel surfaces to be no more than 1.5mm, and the joint width deviation to be no more than ±1.5mm, so as to achieve millimeter-level precision installation and satisfy the pursuit of ultimate detail in high-end architecture.
The installation tolerance of the supporting framing system is the fundamental control point. The positional deviation of the framing directly determines the final placement accuracy of the UHPC panels. Qinglong requires that the axis deviation of the main framing after installation be no greater than 5mm, the elevation deviation between two adjacent framing members be no greater than 3mm, and the elevation deviation among framing members on the same level be no greater than 5mm. The elevation deviation of secondary framing installation points relative to the main framing must be controlled within ±2mm. Only when the framing system is precisely in place can a solid foundation be laid for the subsequent panel hanging.
The installation and positioning deviations of the UHPC panels themselves directly affect the appearance. After installation, the deviation of a panel's edges from the theoretical positioning lines should not exceed 3mm. More important is the relative relationship between adjacent panels: the height difference at the joint between two adjacent panels (i.e., the step offset) should be strictly controlled at no more than 1.5mm, virtually imperceptible to the naked eye at close range. The verticality and levelness deviations of the panels should also be less than 3mm. Through the three-dimensional adjustment capability of the back-bolted hanger system (typically with an adjustment range of no less than ±15mm per direction), Qinglong can effectively absorb structural construction deviations and achieve precise leveling of the panel surfaces.
The uniformity of joint width is the core of visual quality. The permissible construction deviation for the designed joint width (e.g., 12mm) is generally ±1.5mm. This means that across the entire facade, all joints should appear uniform in visual width, with no inconsistency between wide and narrow. This is a great challenge for large curtain wall areas, requiring extremely high precision from surveying and setting-out to the installation of every single panel. Qinglong uses a total station for precise setting-out to ensure that joint width control reaches a high standard.
Overall flatness and verticality are the final macro-level inspections. When checked with a 2m straightedge and a feeler gauge, the local flatness deviation of the UHPC curtain wall surface should not exceed 3mm. The verticality deviation of the entire facade should be no greater than 15mm for heights not exceeding 30m, and no greater than 20mm for heights greater than 30m but not exceeding 60m. Strict deviation control is the technical guarantee behind the premium texture of UHPC curtain walls.
