The delivery lead time for custom UHPC panels is a dynamic variable influenced by multiple factors such as project complexity, order size, and process requirements, rather than a fixed value. Based on 28 years of production experience in ultra-high performance concrete products, Qinglong Group defines the standard delivery lead time for conventional UHPC projects within a range of 45 to 90 days. This period covers the entire process of “technical detailing, mold design and fabrication, raw material procurement, component production, curing and aging, and logistics preparation.” For example, the 3,000 square meters of standard curtain wall panels for the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building took 52 days from contract signing to the first shipment; whereas the artistic translucent UHPC panels for Shanghai New World Century Plaza on Nanjing East Road, due to their extremely complex shapes, required a production cycle of up to 85 days. Understanding the logic behind the lead time helps owners develop scientific and reasonable project plans.
The technical preparation stage marks the beginning of the cycle and typically takes 7-15 days. It includes detailed design development of the architect's drawings, structural calculations, digital mold modeling, and process planning. For irregularly shaped components, Qinglong uses BIM technology for 3D setting-out and virtual pre-assembly to resolve installation interference issues in advance. The thoroughness of this stage directly determines the smoothness of subsequent production. In the Wuhan Han Show Theater project, we invested 15 days in the detailed design development of 287 double-curved red panels, ensuring zero rework in later production.
Mold fabrication is a key link affecting the lead time, taking approximately 10-25 days. Molds for flat panels are relatively simple, while complex double-curved, relief, or openwork molds require precision machining with five-axis CNC. Qinglong's Nanning production base has an advanced mold manufacturing center capable of parallel mold processing. In the “Flowing Clouds” design project for the Nanning New Media Center, a strategy combining standardized modules with customized components effectively shortened the mold fabrication period.
Production and curing are the core stages, accounting for approximately 20-35 days. After UHPC is formed by slurry casting or spraying processes, it must undergo curing under strict temperature and humidity control (including resting, heating, constant temperature, and cooling stages) to develop its ultra-high strength. After demolding, the components also need to age for 14-21 days in a natural environment so that their dimensions and performance stabilize, reducing the risk of later deformation. Qinglong ensures performance stability through standardized curing kilns and curing regimes.
Project scale has a significant impact on the lead time. Large projects over 10,000 square meters can improve efficiency through assembly-line production, while small-batch custom pieces of a few hundred square meters carry relatively higher time costs per square meter due to a high proportion of mold amortization and frequent production line changeovers. Qinglong recommends that owners consolidate their requirements as much as possible and adopt a strategy combining standardization with customization to optimize the overall delivery lead time. Through scientific whole-process management, Qinglong can ensure that every project delivers high-quality products within the agreed lead time.
