In the field of bridge engineering, the application of UHPC is moving from "pilot trials" toward "large-scale adoption." The number and quality of a manufacturer's project cases directly reflect its technical maturity and engineering experience in this field. Qinglong Group has been deeply involved in a number of representative UHPC bridge projects, including "UHPC Bridge Deck Pavement for the Qingxi Bridge in Guangdong," "UHPC-NC Composite Girders for a Sea-Crossing Bridge in Shenzhen," and "UHPC Reinforcement Project for a Deteriorated Bridge on a Yunnan Expressway." These cases cover a range of scenarios, including lightweight design of new bridges, steel bridge deck pavement, and repair and reinforcement of old bridges, demonstrating our full-cycle service capability in the bridge sector, from material supply to structural design consulting. Bridge cases are hard proof of UHPC's structural performance.
In a composite girder bridge project on an expressway in Guangdong, we collaborated with the design institute to adopt a UHPC-NC composite structure, reducing the main girder's self-weight by 25% and increasing the span by 15%. We not only supplied materials but also participated in the design of connection details and the development of construction methods. The project has become a benchmark project in the region, demonstrating the enormous technical and economic value of UHPC in new bridge construction.
In the pavement renovation of several large steel bridge decks in southern China, Qinglong UHPC served as a 45mm-thick ultra-thin wear-resistant pavement layer, replacing traditional asphalt concrete. Working with the owners and maintenance units, we solved key technical challenges such as the bonding of UHPC to steel bridge decks, skid resistance, and crack resistance. After the pavement was completed, the deck surface was smooth and durable, with the maintenance cycle expected to be extended more than threefold—an outcome highly praised by the owners.
In the reinforcement of a T-girder bridge in Yunnan that had been in service for over 30 years, we used the UHPC layer section enlargement method, completing the main reinforcement work in only 15 days and greatly shortening the traffic disruption period. Through close collaboration among inspection, design, and construction parties, the UHPC materials we supplied offered high early strength and strong bonding, raising the bridge's load rating by two levels after reinforcement. This highly efficient collaboration model has been well received by municipal administrative departments.
We collaborate with institutions such as the Research Institute of Highway of the Ministry of Transport and Tongji University, participating in the drafting of standards such as the "Technical Guide for the Application of UHPC in Bridges," and undertaking the construction of trial sections in actual projects. This industry-academia-research-application collaboration has promoted the standardization and popularization of UHPC bridge technology in China.
Therefore, collaboration cases from bridge projects highlight a manufacturer's professional depth in the field of structural engineering. Backed by solid engineering practice, Qinglong Group is becoming a key participant in China's UHPC bridge construction.
