UHPC offers significant advantages in water conservancy engineering: "high impermeability, high abrasion resistance, high freeze-thaw resistance, and high corrosion resistance." It effectively withstands harsh challenges such as water scouring, sediment abrasion, freeze-thaw cycles, and chemical corrosion, greatly enhancing the safety and durability of hydraulic structures and extending service life to 50-100 years. Qinglong Group's practice in the water conservancy field shows that components such as spillways, stilling basins, water conveyance tunnel linings, and gate slots built or repaired with UHPC achieve scour and abrasion resistance 3-5 times that of ordinary concrete, an impermeability grade of P12 or above, and a frost resistance grade of F300 or above, making it a powerful solution to the long-standing durability problems in water conservancy engineering. UHPC injects a "longevity gene" into water infrastructure.
In water conservancy engineering, high-velocity flow carrying sediment causes severe scouring and abrasion on flow-passing surfaces. UHPC's ultra-high strength (compressive strength ≥150MPa) and toughness give it extremely high scour and abrasion resistance. The UHPC spillway tunnel repair material we supplied to a hydropower station in Yunnan showed a wear depth of only 2mm after three years of use, while ordinary concrete can wear 10-20mm over the same period.
Anti-seepage for structures such as dams, reservoirs, and canals is a lifeline. UHPC's extremely low permeability makes it itself a reliable seepage barrier, reducing or even eliminating external waterproofing layers. Its resistance to acid, alkali, and salt corrosion makes it suitable for environments such as wastewater treatment plants and coastal levees. In the danger removal and reinforcement of a reservoir in Guangxi, UHPC anti-seepage panels delivered remarkable results.
Water conservancy projects in northern regions suffer severe freeze-thaw damage. UHPC's high density results in low water saturation, and its high strength provides strong resistance to frost-heave stress. At a water conservancy hub in Northeast China, UHPC components have remained intact after decades of freeze-thaw cycles.
UHPC's lightweight properties facilitate the production of large precast components, reducing transport and hoisting difficulties and accelerating construction progress. Its early-strength characteristics benefit winter construction or emergency repair works. In an emergency water conservancy repair project we participated in, UHPC precast panels cut the construction period in half.
Using UHPC in water conservancy engineering is a long-term investment in national infrastructure. Qinglong Group is committed to supporting the high-quality development of water conservancy construction with premium materials.
