How Many Ways to Combine UHPC Exterior Walls with Insulation Layers? Structural Innovation and Qinglong Group's Composite Technology Route

The combination of UHPC exterior walls with insulation layers mainly follows three technical routes: "adhesive-anchor combination, hanging composite, and prefabricated integration". The optimal solution must be selected based on "building height, insulation requirements, and construction conditions". Through 28 years of engineering practice, Qinglong Group has summarized the applicable scenarios: adhesive-anchor combination (insulation board adhesion + mechanical anchoring) is suitable for buildings ≤100m; hanging composite (hanging insulation layer + UHPC panel dry-hanging) suits super high-rise buildings; prefabricated integrated panels (factory compositing) achieve the best quality and efficiency. In the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater project, we adopted a "150mm thick rock wool hanging + 12mm thick UHPC panel" system, completing insulation and decoration in one step, with a heat transfer coefficient K=0.38 W/(m²·K). The combination method is the art of balancing performance and cost.

Adhesive-Anchor Combination Is the Economical and Practical Solution

Insulation boards (such as EPS, rock wool) are fully bonded with polymer mortar (bonding area ≥40%), supplemented with anchor fixings (≥6 per ㎡). UHPC panels are externally hung via a hanging system, leaving a 20mm ventilation cavity between the panels and the insulation layer. This method is low-cost and widely applicable, but requires extensive on-site work.

Hanging Composite Adapts to Complex Conditions

First install the keel system, fill in insulation wool, then externally hang UHPC panels. It is particularly suitable for projects with uneven substrates or requiring maintenance interlayers. Our patented "Z-shaped keel" simultaneously provides insulation layer support and decorative panel hanging functions, simplifying the structure.

Prefabricated Integration Is the Future Direction

In the factory, the UHPC facing layer, insulation core material, and back panel are composited into whole panels, which are directly hung on site. Quality is controllable and the construction period is the shortest. Our integrated panel production line can achieve a daily output of 2000 ㎡ with panel edge precision of ±0.5mm.

Node Treatment Determines the Success or Failure of the System

Fire-stopping is installed at panel joints, and insulation continuity is reinforced around windows. We provide a complete set of node detail drawings to ensure uninterrupted thermal performance.
