The allowable flatness deviation range of GRC exterior walls is a core indicator for measuring installation quality and visual effect, and must be controlled in grades according to "panel size, viewing distance, and building grade". Based on the national standard "Standard for Quality Acceptance of Building Decoration Engineering" (GB 50210) and 28 years of engineering practice, Qinglong Group has established internal control standards: for components with panel length ≤2m, flatness deviation ≤2mm; for panel length >2m, deviation ≤3mm; for the overall facade (checked with a 2m straightedge), deviation in any direction ≤3mm. In the curtain wall project of Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC, through high-precision molds (profile error ≤0.5mm) and a three-dimensionally adjustable bracket system, we kept the overall flatness of nearly 50,000 square meters of GRC curtain wall within 2mm/2m, achieving a mirror-like visual effect over large surfaces. Flatness is the "face" of a GRC curtain wall and demands constant refinement.
The national standard GB 50210 sets the flatness requirement for panel curtain walls at 2mm/2m. The industry demands stricter tolerances for high-end projects, often controlled within 1.5mm/2m. Qinglong Group's internal control standards exceed the national standard to ensure competitive advantage. We require 100% inspection of every panel before it leaves the factory, and unqualified panels never reach the construction site.
Measure using a 2m straightedge and feeler gauges: place the straightedge against the wall in any direction and measure the maximum gap. Sampling quantity and positions are specified. We promote the use of laser scanners to obtain point cloud data of the entire wall and compare it with the BIM model for a more comprehensive and objective evaluation.
Flatness is affected by mold precision, production deformation, transport damage, and installation leveling. We start with CNC-machined molds (precision ±0.1mm), use production platforms with flatness ≤1mm/2m, dedicated racks for transport, and three-dimensionally adjustable brackets (±15mm) during installation.
Small deviations within the allowable range can be visually minimized through joint layout design and color matching. Avoid placing joints in visually focal areas. By leveraging the characteristics of human vision and optimizing the design, we enable the finished project to achieve a sense of flatness beyond what the data shows.
Flatness control is a systematic project. Through refined whole-process management, Qinglong Group ensures that GRC curtain walls achieve a mirror-grade effect.
