Safe removal of stains from GRC decorative panel surfaces must follow the four-step rule of "stain identification, cleaner matching, appropriate tools, and standardized procedures"; any improper cleaning may damage the surface texture and protective layer. Based on 28 years of project maintenance experience, Qinglong Group classifies stains into four major categories—"dust and airborne particles, rain marks and water stains, oil stains and rust, biological moss"—and provides targeted solutions: for ordinary dust, rinsing with low-pressure clean water (water pressure ≤4MPa) is sufficient; for stubborn organic stains, a pH-neutral biodegradable cleaner is required; the use of strong acids such as hydrochloric or oxalic acid, strong alkalis, or hard tools such as steel wool is strictly prohibited. In the regular maintenance of the roof at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we use specialized cleaners and long-handled soft brushes to carry out a thorough cleaning every two years, keeping the 10-year-old roof panels looking as good as new. Scientific cleaning is a necessary investment to keep GRC beautiful for the long term.
Mortar and paint contamination from the construction phase should be wiped with a damp cloth before curing; dust and rain marks from the service phase should be rinsed with clean water; oil stains and vehicle exhaust pollutants in industrial areas require a neutral emulsifying cleaner; salt crystallization in coastal areas should be rinsed frequently with low-pressure fresh water; moss growing in shaded areas can be treated with a specialized algaecide. Qinglong's maintenance team is equipped with stain testing kits for rapid identification.
Always adhere to the principle of "from weak to strong, test before use." Start with clean water; if ineffective, use a commercially available neutral stone cleaner. We recommend non-abrasive tools such as soft brushes, sponges, and non-woven cloths. High-pressure water jets must be kept at least 30cm from the panel surface, with the fan-shaped spray adjusted to prevent water jet impact from damaging the surface.
The standard procedure is: pre-wet with clean water → apply the cleaner (let it sit for 3-5 minutes, do not let it dry out) → scrub gently with a soft brush → rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water → use a rubber squeegee to remove the surface water film to promote air drying. Cleaning should be carried out on cloudy days or in the early morning or evening, avoiding strong sunlight where the cleaner evaporates quickly and leaves marks.
For rough surfaces such as stone-imitation acid-etched finishes and textured finishes, the cleaner's contact time should be extended and scrubbing intensity increased. For surfaces already coated with a protective agent (such as a fluorocarbon topcoat), a specialized cleaner compatible with the protective agent should be used. After cleaning, the protective agent can be reapplied to restore performance.
Regular professional cleaning is not just for aesthetics—it is an important part of preventive maintenance. Qinglong Group can provide customers with scientific cleaning solutions and professional maintenance services to safeguard building value.
