When installing UHPC curtain wall panels, the spacing and load-bearing capacity design of hangers must follow three principles: “uniform load distribution, deformation compatibility, and safety redundancy.” The specific parameters are determined jointly by wind pressure calculations, panel dimensions, and connection details. Based on 28 years of engineering practice and structural calculations, Qinglong Group has summarized general design standards: for standard panels (area ≤4㎡), hanger spacing should be controlled at 600-800mm, with a design load capacity of no less than 2.5kN per anchor point; for large panels (area >4㎡) or high wind pressure regions (basic wind pressure >0.6kPa), spacing should be reduced to 400-600mm, with single-point capacity ≥4.0kN. In the UHPC curtain wall project of the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building, through finite element analysis, we adopted four-point support for 3.6㎡ panels (design wind pressure 3.5kPa) with anchor spacing of 700mm; the failure load of a single undercut anchor reached 12kN in pull-out testing, with a safety factor exceeding 5, ensuring the absolute safety of the curtain wall system during typhoon season. Hangers are the “lifeline” of a curtain wall, and their design must be scientifically rigorous.
Excessive spacing causes panel deflection to exceed limits (code requirement ≤L/250), while overly small spacing increases cost and thermal bridging. We use finite element software to simulate stress and deformation under different support conditions and optimize anchor layouts. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One project, 2.5㎡ panels with 600mm spacing showed a measured deflection of only L/350, far better than code requirements.
Besides wind loads, seismic action, temperature deformation, self-weight, and other factors must also be superimposed. Qinglong Group conducts full-scale testing on hangers to ensure no plastic deformation occurs under 1.5 times the design load. For critical projects, stainless steel hangers (grade 304 or 316) are used, with corrosion resistance meeting 50-year service requirements.
Connections between hangers and panels should use pre-embedded sleeves or undercut anchors, with anchorage depth ≥40mm. Connections to the supporting framework require three-dimensional adjustment mechanisms (±15mm adjustment range) to absorb construction tolerances. We hold multiple hanger patents, such as snap-fit hangers with a limit-stop function, which are easy to install, safe, and reliable.
Scientific hanger design is the cornerstone of UHPC curtain wall safety. Leveraging extensive structural design experience, Qinglong Group customizes the optimal connection solution for every project.
