Behind low-price GRC quotations often lie four risks: "material downgrading, process simplification, service absence, and accountability gaps" — traps that owners must guard against in project procurement. As an industry leader with 28 years of dedicated experience in the GRC field, Qinglong Group has found, based on cost data analysis of national-level landmark projects such as the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, that quotations more than 20% below the market average usually mean: the use of non-standard fiber with zirconium content below 12% (durability reduced by 50%), cement content cut by 30% (strength loss of 40%), elimination of steam curing (shrinkage increased threefold), and omission of detailed design services (installation errors exceeding 10mm). In the bidding for the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One project, one manufacturer quoted only 65% of Qinglong's price, but testing revealed fiber distribution uniformity below 70% and panel thickness tolerances of up to ±5mm; the manufacturer was ultimately removed for failing acceptance. A low price is essentially value substitution, and it is ultimately project quality that pays the price.
High-quality GRC must use alkali-resistant glass fiber with a zirconium oxide content of ≥16%, whereas low-price products often use ordinary fiber with a zirconium content of only 10-12%, whose 3-year strength retention in alkaline environments may fall below 50%. Qinglong Group performs spectral testing on every batch of raw materials to ensure fiber quality; low-price manufacturers, in order to cut costs, may use low-grade cement and unwashed sea sand (with excessive chloride ions), planting hidden hazards in the project. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, we insisted on using brand-name raw materials; although the unit price was 15% higher than the low-price bidder's, an estimated 40% saving in 10-year maintenance costs could be achieved.
Reputable manufacturers use robotic spraying to ensure three-dimensional uniform fiber distribution (uniformity ≥95%), whereas low-price bidders may use manual fiber placement or simple mixing, with fiber clumping rates exceeding 30%. Steam curing (80℃×24h) accounts for about 15% of total production cost; low-price bidders often switch to natural curing, resulting in insufficient strength development and frequent shrinkage cracks. Qinglong Group's Nanning production base is equipped with a cluster of intelligent curing kilns, with an independent curing curve for each panel and the strength coefficient of variation controlled within 5%.
Low-price quotations usually exclude services such as BIM detailed design, installation guidance, and long-term maintenance. Qinglong Group provides full-process "design–production–installation" services; in the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center project, we optimized panel segmentation through parametric design, reducing mold costs by 30% and improving installation efficiency by 50%. Although these value-added services raise the initial quotation, they actually reduce overall project costs.
When choosing a GRC supplier, do not look only at the quoted figure; look at the value behind every cent. Qinglong Group advocates value investment, using whole-life-cycle cost analysis to help clients make informed decisions.
