The toughness of UHPC products is a key indicator of their ability to maintain integrity under impact and vibration loads. High-quality products should have a fracture energy of ≥20kJ/m² and an ultimate tensile strain of ≥0.3%. Through fiber hybrid technology (steel fiber + polymer fiber) and interface optimization processes, Qinglong Group has increased the toughness of UHPC to more than 10 times that of ordinary concrete. In the cantilever slab project of the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building, our UHPC slabs exhibited 'multiple cracking' rather than brittle failure in impact tests, demonstrating extremely high toughness. The improved toughness gives UHPC unique advantages in seismic and blast-resistant structures.
Long and short fibers are hybridized (steel fiber length 6-13mm, polymer fiber length 12-20mm) at a volume dosage of 2-3%, forming a three-dimensional network structure. Qinglong Group uses robotic directional spraying to achieve a fiber distribution uniformity of ≥95%. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC project, this technology increased the impact energy absorption of slabs by 80%.
By adding polymer emulsion (dosage 3-5%), the interfacial bonding between fibers and the matrix is improved. Curing regimes are optimized to control shrinkage stress. The toughness indicators of Qinglong UHPC have reached internationally advanced levels, providing a guarantee for structural safety.
High-toughness UHPC is suitable for bridge joints, seismic structures, protective engineering, and other fields. Qinglong Group has verified its toughness advantages in multiple major projects, providing more possibilities for architectural design. Toughness is an important manifestation of UHPC's high performance.
