The impact resistance of UHPC exterior walls fully withstands typhoon weather: with a flexural strength of 15-25MPa and fracture energy ≥20kJ/m², it can resist wind pressure of ≥3.0kPa generated by wind speeds of 50m/s (corresponding to a Category 16 typhoon). In the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center project, Qinglong Group verified through wind tunnel testing that the UHPC curtain wall system achieves a maximum deflection ≤L/250 (L being the panel span) under a wind pressure of 3.5kPa, and suffered zero damage in the actual test of Typhoon Mangkhut (center wind speed 42m/s). Scientific impact-resistant design is the safety guarantee for coastal buildings.
The basic wind pressure is calculated according to the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures, with a factor of 1.1 applied for important buildings. Qinglong Group uses CFD fluid simulation to optimize panel shapes, reducing the wind pressure coefficient by 0.1-0.15. In the Yirui Biotechnology Building super high-rise project in Shenzhen, analysis optimized the design wind pressure from 0.75kPa to 0.65kPa, saving 15% in materials.
Anchors have a pull-out resistance ≥5kN, and wind-detachment prevention devices have a breaking force ≥10kN. Our patented damping connectors can dissipate 30% of wind vibration energy. In coastal areas, a 20% safety margin is added to ensure foolproof reliability.
Drop-ball impact tests (a 1kg steel ball dropped from 1m height) verify no through-cracks. At our Nanning laboratory, we simulated the impact of typhoon flying debris (4g steel balls at 110km/h), with no spalling on the back of the panels. The "cracks without shattering" property of UHPC provides a safety guarantee.
Wind pressure sensors and strain gauges are installed for real-time monitoring. Qinglong Group has established typhoon emergency plans, activating the protection mode when wind speed warnings are issued. Scientific design makes buildings fearless of typhoons.
