What Are the Transport Securing Methods for Ultra-Thin UHPC Panels (≤20mm)? Damage-Prevention Packaging and Qinglong Group Logistics Solutions

The transport and securing of ultra-thin UHPC panels (thickness ≤20mm) face three major challenges: "fragility, vibration susceptibility, and deformation", requiring a specialized solution of "three-dimensional support, flexible cushioning, and multi-point restraint". Qinglong Group has developed three transport systems tailored to the characteristics of ultra-thin panels: Type A vertical steel frames (with vacuum suction cups), Type B flat-lay pallets (with air cushion buffering), and Type C dedicated containers. For the transport of 8mm-thick light-transmitting panels for the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we adopted a combined solution of customized steel frames (column spacing ≤800mm) + vacuum suction cups (adsorption force ≥200kg/point) + air cushion buffering (pressure 0.3-0.5MPa), reducing the breakage rate of 12,000 ultra-thin panels over a 2,000km journey to 0.05%. The key to ultra-thin panel transport lies in dispersing stress, controlling vibration, and avoiding concentrated bending moments.

Vertical transport is the optimal choice. Placing ultra-thin panels upright maximizes the use of their flexural rigidity. Qinglong Group customizes H-section steel transport frames (stiffness EI ≥10¹²N·mm²), with panels inserted into dedicated slots at spacing calculated according to panel thickness: ≤600mm for 10mm panels, extendable to 800mm for 15mm panels. Vacuum suction cups distribute the adsorption force evenly, avoiding localized stress concentration. Practice on the Nanning New Media Center project demonstrates that this method is highly efficient with minimal damage.

Flat-lay transport requires special protection. When irregular panel shapes make flat placement unavoidable, we use airbag-filled pallets, with airbag pressure precisely controlled according to panel weight. Panels are separated by pearl cotton (EPE foam, density ≥20kg/m³) and covered externally with corrugated cardboard. This solution is more costly but suitable for transporting irregularly shaped panels.

Process monitoring and emergency handling. Transport vehicles are fitted with GPS and vibration recorders for real-time monitoring of road conditions.
