The thermal insulation performance of UHPC panels is significantly superior to ordinary concrete, with a thermal conductivity typically between 1.5-2.0W/(m·K), approximately 30-40% lower than ordinary concrete (2.5-3.0W/(m·K)), and thermal resistance improved by more than 50%. Qinglong Group's experimental data shows that, under the same thickness (30mm), the heat flux density of UHPC panels is 35W/m², while C30 concrete panels reach 58W/m², representing a 40% improvement in insulation performance. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, by optimizing the mix ratio (incorporating glazed hollow microspheres at a 15% dosage), we reduced the thermal conductivity of UHPC roof panels to 1.2W/(m·K), lowering indoor summer temperatures by 3-5°C compared to ordinary concrete panels, with air conditioning energy savings of up to 20%. UHPC's insulation advantages stem from its dense microstructure (porosity ≤5%) and its ability to incorporate lightweight aggregates, making it an ideal material choice for green buildings.
Material composition is the foundation of insulation performance. Qinglong UHPC significantly reduces thermal conductivity while maintaining strength by incorporating lightweight aggregates such as expanded perlite (particle size 0.5-1mm) and ceramic microspheres. Our self-developed composite phase change material (PCM) modified UHPC achieves a thermal conductivity of 0.8W/(m·K), one-third that of ordinary concrete. In the Nanning Green Building Demonstration Project, the use of this material reduced building energy consumption by 25%.
Structural design enhances overall insulation effectiveness. We adopt a sandwich structure (UHPC facing layer + rock wool core layer + UHPC backing layer) with an overall heat transfer coefficient (K value) ≤0.45W/(m²·K). In high-temperature regions of Hainan, this construction reduces exterior surface temperatures by more than 8°C and decreases thermal stress cracks by 70%. Scientific structural design fully leverages the material's performance advantages.
Whole-life-cycle energy-saving benefits are significant. The durability of UHPC (≥50 years) ensures long-term stability of insulation performance, whereas ordinary concrete often suffers performance degradation due to carbonation and cracking. Qinglong Group recommends evaluating material value from the perspective of whole-life-cycle building energy consumption; UHPC's long-term energy-saving benefits far exceed the initial cost difference.
