In UHPC curtain wall panel installation, the design of connector spacing and load-bearing capacity is the core technical element ensuring the safety and reliability of the curtain wall system, directly affecting wind pressure resistance, seismic performance, and long-term service stability. As an industry leader with 28 years of dedication to UHPC, Qinglong Group, based on practical data from national-level landmark projects such as the 9,000-square-meter double-curved curtain wall of the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater and the 120,000-square-meter wave-shaped roof of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, has concluded that connector spacing must be determined comprehensively according to panel dimensions, wind load class, and seismic fortification intensity. The general standards are: horizontal spacing ≤600mm, vertical spacing ≤400mm, and load-bearing capacity per connector ≥5kN. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotech Building project, we optimized anchor point layout through finite element analysis, enabling 2.4m×1.2m large panels to serve safely for 10 years without displacement in an area with a basic wind pressure of 0.75kN/m². Scientific design must not only accommodate instantaneous loads but also account for fatigue effects, ensuring the connection system remains absolutely reliable throughout a 50-year design life.
Determining connector spacing requires comprehensive consideration of panel thickness, boundary conditions, and load types. Qinglong Group adopts the “panel thickness coefficient method”: for 15mm panel thickness, spacing ≤550mm; for 20mm thickness, spacing ≤650mm; shaped panels require spacing tightened to within 500mm. In the double-curved panel project at Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One, strain gauge measurements were used to tighten spacing to 450mm in stress concentration zones, keeping deformation within L/250. Areas with seismic fortification intensity 8 require an additional 20% safety redundancy, with spacing reduced by 15%. Our BIM collaborative design platform can automatically optimize anchor point layouts to avoid stress concentration.
Each connector must pass triple testing in tension, shear, and fatigue: pull-out resistance ≥5kN, shear resistance ≥3kN, and performance degradation ≤5% after 2 million load cycles. Qinglong Group connectors are made of 316 stainless steel (yield strength ≥500MPa), showing no corrosion after 3,000 hours of salt spray testing. In coastal Hainan projects, we increased the load-bearing capacity margin by 25% to cope with the typhoon-prone environment. On-site pull-out testing with a 5% sampling rate ensures construction quality.
In the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater project, 9,000 shaped panels used three-dimensionally adjustable connectors with spacing errors controlled within ±3mm; after 8 years of service inspection, connection points showed zero failures. We have established a full-process control system covering “design-production-installation,” providing calculation documents and inspection reports for every project. Scientific design is the cornerstone of safety, and Qinglong’s experience is worthy of trust.
