GRC surface cleaning requires differentiated approaches based on contamination type, contamination severity, and surface treatment method; improper cleaning methods may cause irreversible damage. Based on 28 years of project maintenance experience, Qinglong Group has classified GRC cleaning into three levels: routine dust removal, periodic washing, and professional deep cleaning, and has developed corresponding cleaning processes for different contamination sources such as ordinary dust, oil stains, rust stains, and biological contamination. Scientific cleaning not only restores GRC appearance but is also an important means of extending its service life.
Routine dust removal is suitable for lightly contaminated surfaces and is recommended once a month. Use a soft-bristle brush or vacuum cleaner to remove loose dust, wipe with neutral detergent (pH 6-8) diluted at a 1:50 ratio, and finally rinse clean with water. For vertical walls, a low-pressure water gun (pressure below 3MPa) can be used to rinse from top to bottom. During the maintenance of the Shenzhen Pingshan High-Tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center, this routine cleaning kept the GRC curtain wall in good appearance for more than 5 years.
Heavy contamination requires professional cleaning solutions. For stubborn dirt such as oil stains and adhesive residues, Qinglong Group has developed a dedicated emulsifying cleaning agent that effectively decomposes organic matter without damaging the GRC substrate. Rust contamination requires acidic cleaning agents, but concentration and contact time must be strictly controlled (usually no more than 10 minutes), with immediate neutralization and thorough water rinsing after treatment. Biological contamination (such as moss and mold) requires mold-inhibiting fungicides, and a protective coating should be applied after removal to prevent recurrence.
Special surfaces require special precautions. GRC with a stone-like finish has a rough, porous surface, so cleaning requires extended action time and enhanced water rinsing; polished GRC should avoid abrasive materials to prevent scratching; colored GRC should first be tested in an inconspicuous area to confirm color stability. The ambient temperature for cleaning operations should be between 5-35℃, and work under strong sunlight should be avoided as it causes cleaning agents to evaporate too quickly. Qinglong Group recommends professional deep cleaning every 3-5 years, performed by a professional team to ensure cleaning effectiveness and material safety.
