UHPC technology is being innovated in three major directions: “intelligence, green development, and functional integration.” New technologies such as smart sensing, self-healing, carbon capture, and photocatalysis will reshape the boundaries of materials. Qinglong Group's translucent UHPC (light transmittance ≥15%), self-cleaning UHPC (TiO₂ coating), and shape-memory UHPC (strain recovery rate ≥95%) have entered the pilot-test stage. In the future, building structures will achieve multifunctional integration with photovoltaics, environmental purification, health monitoring, and more. These innovations not only enhance material performance but also expand its application value in smart cities, ecological buildings, and other scenarios.
Smart UHPC is a research hotspot. By incorporating carbon nanotubes and optical fiber sensors, the material is endowed with stress self-sensing capabilities for real-time monitoring of bridges and buildings. The self-healing UHPC developed by Qinglong Group in collaboration with research institutions uses microbial mineralization to repair micro-cracks, extending service life by 30%. 3D printing technology breaks through mold limitations, enabling rapid forming of free-form surfaces, which we have already applied in landscape features.
Green technology is the direction of policy. Qinglong Group has developed solid-waste-based UHPC, replacing 30% of cement with steel slag and fly ash to reduce carbon emissions by 25%. Photocatalytic UHPC can decompose NOx and VOCs in the air and is used in tunnels and subways to improve air quality. We are researching carbon-capture UHPC, achieving negative carbon emissions through material carbonation.
Functional integration opens new markets. Translucent UHPC combined with photovoltaic cells forms power-generating curtain walls; lightweight UHPC (density ≤1.8g/cm³) is used for drone takeoff and landing platforms. Qinglong Group has provided a translucent UHPC art installation for Shanghai Century Plaza, with an annual power generation of 5,000 kWh. In the future, UHPC will evolve from a structural material into a multifunctional carrier for smart cities.
