As a multifunctional composite material combining high strength, light weight, moldability, fire resistance, and durability, GRC is applied in an extremely wide range of locations in modern buildings, covering almost every area from exterior to interior, from structural to purely decorative. Drawing on extensive project experience, Qinglong Group has systematically categorized the main applications of GRC into four major categories: building envelope systems, architectural decorative components, landscape and municipal facilities, and special functional components. Its flexibility meets architects' diverse creative needs, from grand statements to refined details.
In the field of building envelope systems, GRC curtain wall cladding panels are the core application. They can be used to create cohesive modern minimalist facades, rhythmic louvered shading systems, and decorative exterior walls with various textures such as faux stone, faux metal, and faux wood. Their lightweight yet high-strength properties make them particularly suitable for non-load-bearing exterior walls of high-rise buildings and integrated exterior insulation and decoration systems for existing building renovations. In large public buildings such as airports, theaters, and stadiums, GRC can easily achieve complex single- and double-curved forms, creating a distinctive building skin.
In terms of architectural decorative components, GRC applications are even more ubiquitous. These include: Roman columns, window surrounds, cornices, pediments, and balusters in classical European architecture; dougong brackets, eave tiles, faux wood rafters, and relief murals in Chinese architecture; and artistic reliefs, three-dimensional logos, grilles, railings, air conditioner covers, and large door surrounds in modern architecture. GRC's moldability allows it to accurately replicate any design detail, and it is lighter and safer than stone, more durable than plaster, and suitable for outdoor use.
In landscape and municipal applications, GRC can be used to create artificial rocks, rockeries, tree pits, planters, artistic benches, pergolas, pavilions, and even faux wood boardwalks and bridges. As for special functional components, GRC can be used for acoustic diffusers in venues with high acoustic requirements (such as concert halls and lecture halls), for walls in special laboratories requiring electromagnetic shielding, and as permanent formwork used in combination with structures. In short, the application boundaries of GRC are limited only by imagination; it has become an indispensable key material for achieving complex architectural forms and rich facade language.
