Achieving a high openwork ratio in UHPC shaping (typically meaning an open area of ≥40%) while maintaining structural safety represents the ultimate expression of material plasticity, reinforcement technology, and precision manufacturing processes. In the Ouargla Hotel project in Algeria, Qinglong Group successfully produced UHPC curtain wall panels with an openwork ratio exceeding 50%. The core technology can be summarized as a trinity solution of "topology-optimized form-finding, oriented fiber reinforcement, and micro-stress-controlled forming." With this technology, material usage is minimized while ensuring a flexural strength of ≥12MPa, achieving a perfect unity of visual transparency and structural stability.
Structural form-finding and topology optimization form the design foundation. Using finite element analysis software, "openwork" simulations are performed on solid panels based on boundary conditions such as wind load and self-weight, calculating the optimal material distribution paths to ensure smooth force flow and avoid stress concentration. Qinglong Group employs parametric generative design to automatically seek the strongest structural form at a given openwork ratio, often producing natural textures resembling branching tree limbs—both beautiful and efficient. For regular patterns, sufficient reinforced edges must be provided at hole perimeters (typically ≥50mm wide).
Fiber reinforcement is the load-bearing core. Highly openwork areas are weak points, so it is essential to ensure oriented distribution of fibers (typically alkali-resistant glass fibers or fine-diameter steel fibers) at the openwork edges, together with a high volume fraction (up to 3%). Qinglong Group uses robotic directional spraying technology, aligning fibers preferentially along the principal stress directions and applying locally intensified spraying around hole perimeters to form a "reinforcement frame." For especially slender connecting sections, GFRP bars or fine stainless steel wires can be pre-embedded as main reinforcement.
Production process controls forming stresses. Highly openwork panels are prone to damage during demolding, so flexible molds (such as silicone molds) must be used and demolding angles optimized (≥3°). The curing regime must be precise, with gradual temperature rise and fall to prevent cracking caused by uneven shrinkage. Through this series of technologies, Qinglong Group enables UHPC to display the beauty of extreme lightness while remaining indestructibly strong.
