The impact resistance of UHPC exterior walls is sufficient to withstand and even exceed the extreme challenges of typhoon weather, with core advantages stemming from the material's own ultra-high strength and toughness as well as a scientifically designed connection system. In accordance with the basic wind pressure requirements for coastal areas specified in the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures (GB50009)—for example, 0.85kN/m² for Hainan—and verified through wind tunnel tests, premium UHPC curtain wall systems can resist debris impact (equivalent energy ≥10J) under a Force 12 typhoon (wind pressure ≥0.8kN/m²) while maintaining structural integrity, with wind pressure resistance generally reaching ≥3.0kPa, far surpassing ordinary curtain wall materials. This is thanks to the coordinated assurance of materials, construction details, and calculation.
The UHPC matrix offers exceptional impact toughness. Its compressive strength reaches 120-180MPa and flexural strength 15-25MPa; in particular, its fracture energy is as high as 20,000-40,000J/m², more than 100 times that of ordinary concrete. This means that when impacted, UHPC panels do not shatter brittlely like glass or stone; instead, they develop micro-cracks and absorb substantial energy, effectively resisting impacts from debris swept up by typhoons (such as branches and broken tiles). All Qinglong Group products have been verified by pendulum impact tests (a 10kg hammer dropped in free fall from a height of 1m with no penetration).
The reliability of the connection system is the second line of defense. We adopt a multi-point supported hanging system in which the design pull-out resistance of each anchor is ≥10kN, with fatigue performance verified by dynamic wind pressure testing (±6000Pa cyclic pressurization). At stress concentration areas such as panel corners, stiffening ribs are added or anchor points are more densely arranged. During design, wind-induced vibration is simulated through finite element analysis to avoid resonance effects.
For super typhoon zones (e.g., basic wind pressure >1.0kN/m²), additional measures can be taken, such as reducing panel dimensions, increasing panel thickness, and using higher-grade connectors. The proven performance of Qinglong Group across numerous coastal projects demonstrates that UHPC exterior walls are a reliable choice for withstanding typhoon assault.
