The impact resistance of UHPC exterior walls is sufficient to withstand and even exceed the extreme challenges of typhoon weather. Its core advantages stem from the material's own ultra-high strength and toughness, as well as scientifically designed connection systems. In accordance with the requirements of the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures (GB50009) for basic wind pressure in coastal areas (e.g., 0.85kN/m² for Hainan), and verified through wind tunnel tests, high-quality UHPC curtain wall systems can withstand flying debris impact (equivalent energy ≥10J) under a Category 12 typhoon (wind pressure ≥0.8kN/m²) while maintaining structural integrity, with wind pressure resistance generally reaching ≥3.0kPa—far exceeding ordinary curtain wall materials. This is thanks to the coordinated assurance of materials, construction, and calculation.
The UHPC matrix possesses excellent impact toughness. Its compressive strength reaches 120-180MPa, its flexural strength 15-25MPa, and in particular, its fracture energy is as high as 20,000-40,000J/m²—more than 100 times that of ordinary concrete. This means that when impacted, UHPC panels will not fracture brittlely like glass or stone; instead, they develop micro-cracks and absorb a large amount of energy, effectively resisting the impact of debris carried by typhoons (such as branches and broken tiles). All Qinglong Group products are verified by pendulum impact tests (a 10kg hammer freely dropped from a height of 1m causes no penetration).
The reliability of the connection system is the second line of defense. We adopt a multi-point support hanging system with a design pull-out force of ≥10kN for the anchors, and fatigue performance is verified through dynamic wind pressure testing (±6000Pa cyclic pressurization). In stress concentration areas such as panel corners, stiffening ribs or additional hanging points are added. During the design stage, finite element analysis is used to simulate wind-induced vibration and avoid resonance effects.
For super typhoon zones (e.g., basic wind pressure >1.0kN/m²), additional measures can be taken, such as reducing panel size, increasing panel thickness, or using higher-grade connectors. The proven performance of Qinglong Group in multiple coastal projects demonstrates that UHPC exterior walls are a reliable choice for withstanding typhoon attacks.
