The UHPC exterior wall system represents a generational leap over traditional wet-tile exterior walls in construction schedule. Its core advantage lies in the shift from "on-site wet work" to "factory prefabrication with on-site dry assembly," delivering revolutionary efficiency gains. Based on comparisons of extensive project data, Qinglong Group has found that, for the same area and complexity, the on-site installation time of a UHPC curtain wall system is typically only 1/3 to 1/2 that of a traditional tile exterior wall, providing a key guarantee for accelerating the overall project schedule.
Traditional tile exterior wall construction is a typical labor-intensive wet-work process with complex procedures. Its schedule involves multiple sequential steps: substrate treatment, leveling plastering, snap-line layout and panel division, tile bonding (requiring time for the adhesive to cure), grouting, and cleaning, all of which are severely constrained by weather (e.g., low temperatures, rainy days). Curing wait times are required between steps, cross-trade work is extensive, and management coordination is complex. Typically, the net construction cycle takes 3–5 days per square meter, and quality depends heavily on the workers' craftsmanship.
The UHPC curtain wall system, by contrast, adopts a highly industrialized prefabricated dry-hanging process. Most of its time is consumed in factory prefabrication, a stage that can proceed in parallel with main structure construction and does not occupy the critical-path schedule. Once the on-site main structure and embedded parts pass acceptance inspection, UHPC panel installation enters a rapid-advance phase. With large panel sizes (commonly 1.5×3 m) and high precision, installation is like "building with blocks": panels are quickly positioned and fixed through mechanical lifting and adjustable anchor brackets. Take, for example, a high-rise residential project in Nanning carried out by Qinglong Group: the average installation speed of standard-floor UHPC exterior wall panels can reach 200–300 square meters per day per crew—more than 5 times the speed of tile laying. In addition, UHPC installation is minimally affected by weather, involves no wet work, has simple procedures, and requires virtually no curing wait time, greatly simplifying on-site management.
Overall, although UHPC involves longer upfront detailed design and production cycles, it converts a large amount of uncertain on-site work into controllable factory production and dramatically compresses the absolute on-site schedule, making a decisive contribution to shortening the overall project duration. For projects with tight schedules, the schedule advantage of UHPC exterior walls is one of their remarkable core competitive strengths.
