Transporting ultra-thin UHPC panels (thickness ≤20mm) is an extremely challenging task. Due to their exceptionally high stiffness-to-weight ratio, they are highly prone to warping deformation caused by uneven support during transport, or edge and corner chipping caused by vibration. Qinglong Group has developed a three-level protective transport system for such precision components, known as "Vacuum Adsorption + Flexible Padding + Rigid Frame," which has successfully ensured that countless ultra-thin panels arrive at job sites from the factory completely undamaged.
The first level of protection is "vacuum adsorption fixation." This is the most core technology. We use a large vacuum suction frame with multiple independent zones. After the UHPC panel is placed flat, the vacuum pump is activated, and the suction cups hold the panel firmly against the frame. The uniformly distributed normal adsorption force perfectly counteracts the panel's own tendency to bend, preventing warping or tremor during transport bumps. The vacuum level in each zone can be monitored independently, ensuring that the failure of any single suction cup will not cause overall failure. This method provides uniform fixing force and causes no mechanical damage to the panel surface.
The second level of protection is "flexible cushion padding." Between the vacuum suction cups and the UHPC panel, as well as between panels when multiple panels are stacked, we lay specialized high-density closed-cell foam pads or felt pads. This padding offers excellent cushioning performance and surface protection, absorbing high-frequency micro-vibrations during vehicle travel to prevent "micro-cracks," while also preventing the smooth UHPC surface from being scratched by hard objects. For panel edges and corners, we use custom L-shaped or U-shaped rubber corner guards for full-wrap protection, secured tightly with straps.
The third level of protection is the "rigid outer packaging frame." Panels already fixed with vacuum suction cups and fitted with padding (usually a single panel or a small stack) are placed entirely into a custom frame made of aluminum profiles or steel tubes. A gap of approximately 50mm is left between the frame's inner side and the panels, filled with compressible foam strips. This rigid frame serves to withstand possible external collisions and to distribute any impact loads generated during transport across the entire frame rather than directly onto the fragile panels. The entire packaging frame is also finally strapped and secured inside the truck's cargo box to prevent it from moving. With this system, we have successfully delivered UHPC large panels only 15mm thick with an area exceeding 6 square meters safely to destinations across the country.
