Installation and curing of GRC in high-temperature environments require focused control of the moisture evaporation rate. From its project in Saudi Arabia, Qinglong summarized a triple-control strategy: selection of construction time windows, application of curing agents, and process adjustments.
By using BIM to simulate the local solar trajectory, grouting operations were scheduled for early morning or evening, avoiding the high-evaporation period between 10:00 and 16:00 each day. Comparative tests conducted at the Nanning production base showed that this simple adjustment can shorten the time required for mortar strength development to reach specified values by 30%.
The selection of a dedicated curing agent is particularly critical. Film-forming curing agents are recommended over water-based types, as they can effectively lock in more than 80% of the mixing water at 45°C. The reflective curing agent Qinglong customized for the Southeast Asian market features a surface aluminum powder coating that reflects 60% of solar radiation, lowering the panel temperature by 8-10°C.
Mix proportion optimization is the fundamental solution. Increasing the water-retaining cellulose ether component (0.2%-0.3%) and incorporating pozzolanic materials such as rice husk ash to partially replace cement can significantly improve workability under high temperatures. In the Ho Chi Minh City project in Vietnam, the optimized mix proportion enabled the GRC demolding strength of 15 MPa to be reached 12 hours earlier.
