Optimizing the acoustic performance of perforated GRC panels requires coordinated design of aperture, perforation rate, and cavity to achieve a balance between sound absorption and sound insulation. Based on experience from concert hall and theatre projects, Qinglong Group holds that high-quality perforated GRC panels should achieve a sound absorption coefficient ≥0.8 (500-2000Hz) and a sound insulation rating ≥30dB. Through parametric design, acoustic performance is perfectly combined with decorative effect.
Aperture and perforation rate are key. An aperture of 2-5mm and a perforation rate of 10%-30% tune the resonance frequency. In the Zengcheng City Cultural Conference Center project, Qinglong Group optimized the hole distribution through BIM simulation, achieving a sound absorption peak at 1000Hz. Cavity depth affects low-frequency absorption; a 50-100mm cavity enhances low-frequency performance. Material density also matters: GRC panels with a bulk density of 1.8-2.0g/cm³ deliver excellent acoustic results. These optimizations make perforated GRC an ideal material for acoustic decoration.
