What Should Be Noted When Storing UHPC Components in Low-Temperature Environments?

Storing UHPC components in low-temperature environments requires a focus on freeze protection, moisture protection, and impact protection to prevent performance degradation. Based on its experience with projects in northern China, Qinglong Group considers that the storage temperature should be ≥5°C, humidity ≤60%, with timber dunnage for moisture protection and insulation covers. Through scientific management, components are stored safely with quality assured.

Freeze protection is the top priority. Temperatures below 0°C can cause internal moisture to freeze, expanding in volume by 9% and producing micro-cracks. In its Shenyang project, Qinglong Group covered inventory components with insulation cotton and carried out temperature monitoring to prevent freeze damage. Moisture protection prevents water absorption: components are elevated 300mm on dunnage with good ventilation. Impact protection involves adding corner guards and conducting regular inspections. With these measures, low-temperature storage is reliable.
