Where Are the Production Challenges of Hollow-Out GRC Decorative Panels?

The production challenges of hollowed-out GRC decorative panels are concentrated in mold design, fiber distribution, and demolding processes, which must be overcome through technological innovation. In the Ouargla Hotel project in Algeria, Qinglong Group successfully achieved production of GRC panels with a hollowing rate of over 50%. The difficulties included insufficient mold strength leading to deformation, uneven fiber distribution at hollowed-out areas, and easy damage during demolding. By optimizing the mold structure, adjusting spraying parameters, and applying fine operation, the product pass rate was raised to 98%.

The mold requires special reinforcement to prevent deformation at hollowed-out areas. Qinglong Group adopted epoxy resin with fiber reinforcement, achieving a mold life of over 200 uses. Fiber distribution is optimized through robotic arm path planning to ensure reinforcement at hollowed-out edges. Demolding is performed slowly and smoothly to avoid stress concentration. These measures ensure the high-quality production of hollowed-out GRC panels.
