The carbonation resistance of GRC products is an important indicator for evaluating their durability, directly affecting the long-term stability of the material in a carbon dioxide environment. Based on accelerated aging tests and actual project tracking, Qinglong Group holds that the annual carbonation depth of quality GRC should be ≤0.1mm, and the 50-year carbonation depth should not exceed the thickness of the protective cover. Verification methods include three approaches: laboratory testing, on-site sampling, and long-term monitoring, which objectively evaluate product performance through scientific data and provide a reliable basis for product selection.
Laboratory testing is the fundamental method. Accelerated carbonation tests are conducted in accordance with the GB/T 50082 standard, under conditions of 20±2℃ temperature, 70±5% humidity, and 20±3% carbon dioxide concentration. Qinglong Group's laboratory data show that after 28 days of accelerated carbonation, quality GRC exhibits a carbonation depth of ≤1.0mm, equivalent to 50 years of carbonation in the natural environment. Testing requires preparing standard specimens (100mm×100mm×400mm), which are cured for 28 days before testing. A phenolphthalein alcohol solution color test is also performed to visually observe the carbonation front. These data provide a quantitative basis for performance evaluation.
On-site sampling verifies actual performance. Core samples are drilled from completed projects to test carbonation depth. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, Qinglong Group sampled GRC panels that had been in use for 5 years, finding a carbonation depth of only 0.3mm, far below the limit. Sampling locations should be selected at typical areas prone to carbonation, such as sun-facing surfaces and corners. Testing requires the participation of a third-party institution to ensure impartiality. Long-term monitoring tracks performance changes through regular follow-up visits. Combining these methods provides a comprehensive assessment of carbonation resistance.
Quality control safeguards performance. Optimizing the mix ratio and adding active admixtures reduces the Ca(OH)₂ content. Through scientific proportioning, Qinglong GRC keeps its carbonation coefficient at a relatively low level. Choosing a reliable manufacturer ensures that products meet standards.
