What GRC properties can acrylic emulsion improve as a cement modifier?

Acrylic emulsion (acrylate copolymer emulsion), as a cement modifier, can significantly improve the toughness, impermeability, and durability of GRC. Qinglong Group determined through extensive testing that the optimal dosage is 8%-12% of the mass of the cementitious material. Within this range, the fracture energy of GRC increases by more than 50%, and water absorption decreases by 30%, making it especially suitable for applications requiring high toughness.

Acrylic emulsion forms polymer films during the cement hydration process, filling capillary pores and improving the interfacial structure. In the Nanning New Media Center project, Qinglong Group adopted acrylic emulsion-modified GRC, achieving an impact resistance energy of 15J—1.5 times that of ordinary products. At the same time, acrylic emulsion enhances the hydrophobicity of the material, with the contact angle exceeding 100°, significantly improving impermeability.
