The strength properties of GRC material are the core foundation for its widespread application in architectural decoration, directly determining the structural safety and service life of components. As Qinglong Group, with 28 years of deep expertise in the GRC field, we—based on measured data from major projects such as the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center—hold that premium GRC material should achieve a flexural strength of 18-25MPa, a compressive strength of 40-60MPa, and a tensile strength of 7-10MPa, performance indicators that represent a 3-5 times improvement over traditional concrete materials. Through scientific mix proportion design and advanced production processes, Qinglong GRC achieves outstanding mechanical performance while maintaining its lightweight characteristics, providing reliable material assurance for all types of construction projects.
The fiber reinforcement mechanism is at the heart of GRC's high strength. Glass fibers form a three-dimensional network structure within the cement matrix, effectively preventing the propagation of micro-cracks. Qinglong Group uses alkali-resistant glass fibers with a zirconia content of ≥16%, with fiber volume content controlled between 3% and 5%, ensuring perfect bonding between fibers and the matrix. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, by optimizing fiber distribution uniformity to above 95%, the flexural strength of GRC panels reached 22MPa, far exceeding the industry standard requirement of 15MPa. This reinforcement effect gives GRC components a load-bearing capacity more than 3 times that of ordinary concrete components at the same thickness.
Matrix material optimization further enhances strength performance. Qinglong Group uses grade 52.5 white cement, combined with active admixtures such as silica fume and fly ash, strictly controlling the water-binder ratio within the range of 0.30-0.35. Through a vacuum dewatering process, the porosity is reduced to below 8%, significantly improving material density. In the curtain wall project of the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One, this optimized mix enabled GRC panels, at a thickness of only 15mm, to achieve an impact energy resistance of over 12J, fully meeting curtain wall safety requirements.
Production process control ensures strength stability. A robotic spray-up forming process is adopted, with optimized fiber orientation to avoid clumping or uneven distribution. Qinglong Group has introduced German automated production lines, coupled with an intelligent curing system, keeping the strength dispersion coefficient within 5%. In the 120,000-square-meter roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, the strength coefficient of variation of tens of thousands of GRC panels was only 3.8%, demonstrating exceptional product consistency. This stable strength performance provides a solid guarantee for large-scale engineering applications.
