Preventing mold and bacterial growth on UHPC exterior walls in humid regions is an important issue for maintaining architectural aesthetics and a healthy environment. Based on project experience in South China, Qinglong Group believes that through material modification, surface treatment, and structural design, UHPC exterior walls can effectively resist mold growth, achieving an anti-mold rating of Grade 0 and remaining clean over the long term.
The material itself inhibits mold. UHPC has a dense structure with low porosity, lacking the conditions for mold growth. Qinglong Group incorporates antibacterial agents (such as silver ions) into the mix for long-lasting mold inhibition. The alkaline environment is also unfavorable for mold survival. Through these measures, the material's inherent mold resistance is significantly improved.
Surface treatment enhances stain resistance. Hydrophobic coatings make the surface less likely to retain nutrients. Photocatalytic coatings decompose organic matter and inhibit mold. Qinglong Group has applied these technologies in humid-region projects with remarkable results. Regular cleaning removes nutrient sources and prevents growth.
Structural design reduces moisture. Ventilated cavities keep surfaces dry and prevent water accumulation. Sloped surfaces ensure smooth drainage and reduce retention. Through systematic design, Qinglong Group has successfully solved mold problems in humid regions, with projects performing well.
