The weight of UHPC panels is linearly and positively correlated with their thickness, directly affecting transportation, installation costs, and structural loads. Based on extensive measured data, Qinglong Group has established a thickness-weight relationship model: standard UHPC has a density of 2200-2400kg/m³, and for every 10mm increase in thickness, the unit weight increases by 22-24kg. A 20mm thick panel weighs approximately 44-48kg/m², while a 30mm thick panel reaches 66-72kg/m². This difference provides important guidance for project selection.
Weight calculation needs to take the mix proportion into account. In its Shenzhen project, Qinglong Group controlled the density at around 2250kg/m³ by optimizing aggregate gradation and fiber content. Thickness tolerance also affects the actual weight; internal control standards keep the thickness deviation within ±1.5mm to ensure weight stability. For large-format panels, weight calculations must also account for additional structures such as stiffening ribs.
Lightweight design reduces overall loads. Panel thickness is optimized through finite element analysis, with thin panel designs adopted in non-critical areas. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources Mixc project, Qinglong Group optimized the panel thickness in some areas from 25mm to 18mm, reducing weight by 28% while meeting structural requirements. This optimization significantly reduced hoisting difficulty and support costs.
Weight factors must be considered for transportation and installation. Panels exceeding 100kg require specialized lifting equipment. Qinglong Group has established a weight classification management system, developing corresponding plans for panels of different weights to ensure safe and efficient operations.
