Achieving continuous stone-grain effects on large UHPC panels requires the combined application of mold transfer, color layering, and surface treatment techniques. In the Shanghai Century Plaza project, Qinglong Group successfully achieved seamless stone-grain transitions on 12m long panels, with a simulation fidelity exceeding 95%. Its core technologies include high-precision mold making, multi-layer color spraying, and stone-like texture treatment.
Mold transfer is the foundation of the texture. Silicone molds are used to replicate natural stone textures, with a minimum texture precision of 0.1mm. Qinglong Group obtains stone sample data through 3D scanning and CNC-engraves master molds to ensure natural and continuous textures. Texture continuity is designed at panel joints to avoid obvious breakpoints. A low-viscosity release agent is selected, applied at 100-150g/m², to ensure clear details.
Color layering creates a sense of depth. The primer adopts the stone's base color, the mid-layer spray dots mimic mineral particles, and the top layer is a transparent protective coating. Qinglong Group developed a six-axis robotic spraying system with optimized paths to ensure uniform color across large areas. The color difference ΔE is controlled within 2.0, making it indistinguishable to the naked eye. The thickness of each coating is precisely controlled, with a total thickness of 80-120μm.
Surface treatment enhances realism. An antique polishing process is used to reveal the "natural" texture. The protective treatment uses a fluorocarbon coating with weather resistance of over 3,000 hours. This process gives UHPC panels both the aesthetic appeal of stone and excellent performance.
