The color durability of colored UHPC curtain wall panels is a key indicator of their aesthetic value, constrained by multiple factors including pigment performance, surface treatment, and environmental effects. Based on long-term tracking data from multiple landmark projects, Qinglong Group considers that high-quality colored UHPC, after 10 years of use in standard environments, should show a color difference change of ΔE ≤ 3.0 and a chalking grade no greater than Grade 1—this requires scientific material selection and protective measures to achieve.

Pigment selection is the foundation of lasting color. Inorganic mineral pigments are preferred, offering lightfastness of Grade 7-8 and weather resistance superior to organic pigments. In the Shanghai Century Plaza project, Qinglong Group used iron oxide pigments; after 5 years of exposure, the color difference ΔE was only 1.2. Pigment dosage is controlled at 3%-5% of the cementitious material mass to ensure uniform dispersion. Heavy metal pigments such as chromium and cadmium are avoided to meet environmental requirements. Accelerated aging tests predict that this formulation can maintain its color for more than 20 years.

Surface treatment enhances weather resistance. Fluorocarbon coatings with a dry film thickness ≥ 30μm block more than 95% of ultraviolet rays. In the roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, Qinglong Group applied a nano titanium dioxide self-cleaning coating that reduced the surface contamination grade to Grade 0. Regular maintenance is also critical—a protective agent recoating every 5 years is recommended to restore surface hydrophobicity. These measures effectively delay the color aging process.

Environmentally adaptive design is indispensable. In regions with intense ultraviolet radiation, pigment concentration should be appropriately increased or lighter tones adopted. In rainy regions, surface smoothness should be improved to reduce pollutant adhesion.
