During the installation of UHPC curtain wall panels, the setting of connector spacing and the calculation of load-bearing capacity are the core technical steps for ensuring the safety and reliability of the curtain wall system. As Qinglong Group, with 28 years of deep expertise in the UHPC field, we draw on practical experience from major projects such as the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building and the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, and believe that the connector spacing of a high-quality UHPC curtain wall should be determined comprehensively based on panel dimensions, wind loads, and seismic action, typically controlled within 600-800mm, with each anchor point providing a load-bearing capacity of no less than 10kN. This scientific approach ensures both structural safety and optimal economy.
The design of connector spacing must take into account panel stiffness and load distribution. For standard-size UHPC curtain wall panels (1.2m×2.4m), Qinglong Group recommends anchor point spacing of no more than 800mm, with anchor points required within 200mm of panel corners. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, optimization through finite element analysis determined the anchor point spacing at 750mm, meeting load requirements while reducing the number of connectors by 20%. For oversized panels (length >3m), additional intermediate anchor points are needed to prevent excessive mid-panel deflection. Anchor points should be arranged uniformly and symmetrically to ensure reasonable load transfer.
Load-bearing capacity calculation is the foundation of safety. The pull-out resistance of each anchor point should be determined by calculation based on wind loads and dead weight, with a safety factor of 2.5. In coastal projects, Qinglong Group conducts full-scale tests on anchor points to ensure a load-bearing capacity of no less than 15kN. 316 stainless steel is the preferred connector material, offering excellent corrosion resistance in salt spray environments. The specification of connecting bolts is determined by the load: M10 bolts are suitable for areas with ordinary wind pressure, while M12 bolts are used in typhoon-prone regions. A regular inspection system ensures long-term safety in service.
Dynamic loads require special consideration. In seismic fortification zones, anchor points must possess a certain deformation capacity, allowing a displacement of ±10mm. The elastic connector system developed by Qinglong Group withstood a seismic intensity 8 earthquake in a project in Wuhan and performed well. Through scientific calculation and meticulous construction, the UHPC curtain wall anchor point system can ensure 50 years of safe use.
