What is the maximum single-panel area of UHPC stone-imitation large panels?

The single-panel area of UHPC faux stone components is subject to multiple constraints from material performance, production processes, and transportation and installation conditions. Based on practice across multiple landmark projects, Qinglong Group believes the maximum single-panel area can reach 12-15 square meters, but it must be determined specifically according to panel thickness, reinforcement design, and project conditions. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, the largest single panel we successfully produced and installed measured 12 square meters (4m×3m) with a panel thickness of 20mm, demonstrating UHPC's outstanding performance in large-panel applications.

Material performance is the foundation for determining the maximum area. UHPC's flexural strength ≥18MPa and elastic modulus ≥40GPa make large-panel design possible. By optimizing fiber distribution (2.5% volume fraction), Qinglong Group controls the deflection of 6m×2.5m flat panels to within 1/250 of the span. In the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center roofing project, the crack resistance of large panels was further improved through the mixed addition of steel fibers and polypropylene fibers, allowing the area to be expanded to 15 square meters.

Production processes ensure the quality of large panels. Large molds must have sufficient rigidity, with deformation ≤1mm/m. Qinglong Group uses CNC-machined GRP molds combined with steel skeleton reinforcement to ensure forming precision. A balanced lifting system is employed during curing to prevent deformation. In the Wuhan Han Show Theater project, multi-point supports were set up during steam curing of the large panels, controlling flatness deviation to within 3mm/2m.

Transportation and installation conditions limit the final dimensions. Considering road width restrictions and lifting capacity, panel length is generally kept within 6m. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One project, Qinglong Group adopted a segmented design for panels exceeding 5m, with on-site splicing, which both preserved the visual effect and solved transportation challenges. Through scientific design, UHPC faux stone large panels can meet architectural expression requirements while ensuring engineering feasibility.
