Sealing Treatment Method for Connecting GRC Panels to Metal Components?

The connection sealing between GRC panels and metal components is a critical element in ensuring the durability of curtain wall systems. Qinglong Group employs multiple lines of sealing defense, including physical isolation, elastic sealing, and drainage water guidance, ensuring that connection points maintain good sealing under temperature differential deformation, wind vibration, and other effects.

Physical isolation is the foundation of corrosion prevention. Nylon gaskets 2-3mm thick are installed between GRC panels and metal anchors to avoid galvanic corrosion. In coastal area projects, 316 stainless steel anchors are used, with additional insulating coatings (epoxy resin, thickness ≥80μm). Sealing treatment is applied around connection bolt holes, using water-swelling rubber rings to block water penetration paths.

Elastic sealing accommodates deformation. Panel joints are filled with polyurethane sealant (movement capability ≥25%), with closed-cell foam backing rods (diameter 1.5 times joint width). In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone project, Qinglong Group calculated the temperature deformation and designed the sealant thickness at 0.5 times the joint width to ensure sufficient deformation capacity. The bond strength between sealant and substrate must be ≥0.5MPa, with a durable service life of no less than 20 years.

Drainage design prevents water accumulation. Drainage holes (diameter ≥8mm) are provided at connection points with a slope of no less than 5%. Water guide boards are installed inside the cavity to direct any infiltrated moisture to the exterior. Regular inspection and maintenance ensure the drainage system remains unobstructed, extending its service life.
