Impermeability is one of the core indicators for evaluating the durability of UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete), directly affecting its service life in humid environments, water engineering, or corrosive media. Drawing on years of material R&D and engineering practice, Qinglong Group provides an in-depth analysis of the impermeability mechanism, performance advantages, and key engineering application points of UHPC manufacturer products, offering customers a professional basis for product selection.
The impermeability of UHPC stems from its unique microstructure. By optimizing particle grading through the maximum packing density theory and using high-range water reducers to achieve a low water-binder ratio (typically below 0.20), UHPC forms a dense system with extremely low porosity (1-2%) dominated by harmless pores. Qinglong Group's product testing data shows that its UHPC maintains a chloride ion diffusion coefficient stable within the range of 0.5-1.2×10⁻¹²m²/s, reaching a virtually impermeable level far beyond that of traditional concrete (typically at the 10⁻¹² order of magnitude).
The direct manifestation of impermeability is resistance to chloride ion penetration, which is crucial for coastal buildings or bridge structures exposed to de-icing salts. In multiple Qinglong Group projects in the Hainan region, such as Changying Global 100 Paradise, UHPC components effectively prevented chloride ions from penetrating inward in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, protecting internal reinforcement materials from corrosion. Relevant accelerated tests show that the chloride ion migration coefficient of premium UHPC is two orders of magnitude lower than that of C50 concrete, and the design service life can easily exceed 100 years.
Water penetration resistance, in turn, relates to building waterproofing and durability. According to GB/T 50082 standard testing, Qinglong UHPC achieves a water penetration resistance grade of P12 or above (i.e., specimens show no water seepage under 1.2MPa water pressure for 12 hours). This property gives UHPC a natural advantage in structures such as basement side walls and water tanks. In the Shanghai Qingpu R&D Base project, the self-waterproofing performance of UHPC exterior wall panels reduced the need for additional waterproofing layer construction, simplifying the structural layers.
Gas permeability resistance is often overlooked, yet it has a significant impact on structural durability. The dense matrix of UHPC can effectively block the intrusion of corrosive gases such as carbon dioxide and oxygen, so carbonation depth develops extremely slowly. Qinglong Group's measured data shows that the predicted 50-year carbonation depth of its UHPC products is less than 0.5mm, making the threat of carbonation-induced rebar corrosion essentially negligible. In addition, impermeability also gives rise to durability advantages such as sulfate attack resistance and freeze-thaw resistance, forming a synergistic protective effect.
In summary, premium UHPC manufacturer products offer outstanding impermeability, serving as an important guarantee for constructing long-lasting, durable buildings. Through precise mix design and strict production control, Qinglong Group ensures that every UHPC component possesses stable and reliable impermeability, endowing buildings with durability beyond the ordinary.
