The carbonation resistance of GRC products is an important indicator for measuring their durability, directly affecting the performance stability of components during long-term use. Based on years of quality testing experience, Qinglong Group has developed a complete set of verification methods for carbonation resistance, covering multiple dimensions including laboratory testing, on-site testing, and long-term monitoring.
Laboratory accelerated carbonation testing is the most direct verification method. In accordance with the requirements of the "Technical Standard for Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) in Buildings" (JGJ/T423-2018), specimens are placed in an environment with a carbon dioxide concentration of 20±3%, a temperature of 20±2℃, and a humidity of 70±5% to measure the carbonation depth. Qinglong Group's internal standard requires that the 28-day accelerated carbonation depth not exceed 1mm, an indicator stricter than the industry standard. Through the accumulation of extensive test data, we have established a correlation between carbonation depth and service life, providing a reference for engineering applications.
On-site sampling and testing is an effective means of verifying actual performance. After the delivery of key projects, Qinglong Group reserves specimens from the same batch for long-term performance monitoring. In the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center project, five years of follow-up testing revealed an actual carbonation depth of only 0.3mm, far below the design expectation. Such field data provides an important reference for projects in similar environments.
Microstructure analysis can reveal the intrinsic mechanism of carbonation resistance. Qinglong Group uses scanning electron microscopy to observe the morphology and distribution of hydration products, and measures pore structure through the mercury intrusion method. Research shows that when the proportion of harmless pores smaller than 100nm exceeds 70%, the material's carbonation resistance is significantly enhanced. This microscopic-level analysis provides a theoretical basis for mix proportion optimization.
Long-term performance prediction needs to incorporate environmental factors. Qinglong Group has established a carbonation model based on actual environmental data, taking into account the influence of multiple factors such as temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration. Through this scientific prediction method, the performance changes of GRC components within their design service life can be assessed more accurately, providing support for engineering decisions.
