The number of mesh layers in GRC decorative panels is determined based on panel thickness, service environment, and load-bearing requirements. Typically, 1 layer is used for panels ≤15mm thick, 2 layers for 15-25mm, and 3 layers for ≥25mm. Critical areas such as edges and openings require additional reinforcement layers, with layer spacing controlled at 3-5mm. The mesh is made of alkali-resistant glass fiber with ZrO₂ content ≥16.5%, an aperture of 10mm×10mm, and a mass per unit area ≥160g/㎡.
In an actual project, an exterior wall decorative panel 20mm thick was fitted with 2 layers of mesh at a layer spacing of 4mm. Wind pressure testing showed a wind pressure resistance of 5.0kPa, far exceeding the 2.0kPa required by the standard. In contrast, comparison specimens that did not meet the layer requirements cracked at a wind pressure of 3.0kPa. Qinglong GRC optimized the mesh layout through finite element analysis, improving material utilization by 20% and reducing costs by 15%.
Thin panels (≤15mm) need 1 layer to meet basic requirements; medium-thick panels (15-25mm) need 2 layers to ensure strength; thick panels (≥25mm) need 3 layers to improve toughness. These relationships guide the design.
U-shaped wrapping layers are added at edges; radial reinforcement is applied around openings; these reinforcements prevent stress concentration.
Alkali-resistant glass fiber with ZrO₂ ≥16.5%; mesh aperture of 10mm×10mm; these criteria ensure durability.
Firm interlayer bonding with no hollowing; mesh kept flat with no wrinkles; these key points ensure quality.
The number of mesh layers requires scientific design. Qinglong GRC's standard solutions ensure safety and economy.
