GRC component honeycomb and pitted surface defects are mainly caused by three factors: improper material mix proportions, non-standard construction techniques, and insufficient curing conditions. Specific manifestations include: excessive water-cement ratio (>0.4) causing bleeding, inadequate vibration resulting in air bubbles and voids, and uneven release agent application causing mold sticking. According to statistics, such defects reduce component strength by 15%-25% and durability by 30%.
In one engineering case, a project used inferior release agent with insufficient vibration time, resulting in honeycomb areas covering 8% of the GRC decorative column surface, with the largest void diameter reaching 15mm. Core drilling tests showed the strength in the defective area was only 12MPa, far below the design requirement of 18MPa. In contrast, comparison specimens produced with Qinglong's standard GRC process (water-cement ratio 0.32, layered vibration, constant-temperature curing) achieved 95% surface smoothness and a strength variation coefficient ≤5%.
Water-cement ratio controlled at 0.30-0.35, strictly no more than 0.4; continuous aggregate gradation with fineness modulus of 2.3-2.6; water reducer dosage of 0.5%-0.8% to prevent segregation. These controls guarantee quality at the source.
Vibration time of 20-30s per point until slurry appears on the surface; layered pouring thickness ≤300mm; release agent applied evenly at 150-200g/㎡. These specifications ensure compaction.
Curing at humidity ≥90% for 7 days; temperature of 20±5℃; demolding strength ≥15MPa. These conditions prevent defects.
Use of special repair mortar (strength ≥ original design); surface grinding to flatness ≤2mm/2m; these techniques restore performance.
Surface quality requires whole-process control. Qinglong's standard GRC process eliminates honeycombing and pitted surfaces.
