Do Performance Requirements for GRC Materials Differ Across Climate Zones? Qinglong GRC Regional Adaptability Technology Research

Different climate zones impose significantly different requirements on GRC performance, requiring targeted material design and process adjustments. Based on project practice nationwide, Qinglong GRC has established a comprehensive regional adaptability technical system.

In a cultural center project in Lhasa, Tibet, addressing the characteristics of strong plateau ultraviolet radiation and large temperature differences, Qinglong GRC adopted a special mix ratio: adding silica fume and fly ash as dual admixtures to reduce calcium hydroxide content; using stable iron oxide pigments with a UV resistance rating of grade 8; installing dense temperature joints with spacing reduced from the conventional 6m to 4m. After 5 years of service verification, the component surfaces showed no color variation, and crack control proved effective. This targeted design ensures long-term performance under special climate conditions.

Performance Requirements for Severe Cold Regions

Frost resistance grade must reach F300 or above, with an air bubble spacing factor ≤200μm. Early strength requirements are high: 3-day strength must reach 70% of 28-day strength. Air-entraining agent dosage is increased by 0.01%-0.02%, with air content controlled at 4%-6%.

Requirements for Hot and Rainy Regions

Impermeability grade P10 or above, with water absorption below 5%. Sulphoaluminate cement is used to avoid cracking during high-temperature construction. Curing humidity must be above 90%, with curing time extended to 10 days.

Requirements for Dry and Windy Regions

Shrinkage compensation measures: add expansive agents or fibers. Spray curing compound on surfaces to prevent plastic shrinkage cracks. Formwork removal time extended to more than 3 days.

Requirements for Coastal Salt Spray Regions

Chloride ion diffusion coefficient ≤2.0×10⁻¹²m²/s. Protective cover thickness increased by 5mm. Use epoxy-coated rebar or stainless steel fittings. Apply hydrophobic treatment to surfaces.

Climate adaptability is key to GRC durability. Through material optimization and structural measures, Qinglong GRC ensures its products deliver optimal performance under all climate conditions.
