Cleaning GRC product surfaces requires targeted cleaning methods and reagents based on the type and degree of contamination. Improper cleaning may damage the surface coating, affecting both appearance and service life. Based on extensive engineering practice, Qinglong GRC has developed a scientific and effective cleaning technology system.
During the maintenance of the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater, facing contamination issues on the red GRC curtain wall, Qinglong's cleaning team adopted a tiered treatment plan: ordinary dust was removed with a neutral detergent and a soft-bristle brush; stubborn stains were treated locally with a special stain remover; biological contamination was eliminated with anti-mildew agents. After cleaning, the surface color recovery rate exceeded 95%, with no damage to the coating. The cleaning standards established by the project, including specific parameters such as reagent concentration, action time, and rinsing pressure, have become an industry reference standard.
Use a neutral detergent with pH 6-8, diluted at a ratio of 1:50. Scrub with a soft-bristle brush or sponge, then rinse with clean water. Water pressure should not exceed 80 Bar, and water temperature should not exceed 40°C. After cleaning, check whether detergent residue remains on the surface.
For special contamination such as oil stains and rust marks, use a special stain remover. Test in an inconspicuous area first to determine the optimal concentration and action time. Rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately after treatment to avoid chemical residue.
Treat moss and mildew spots with anti-mildew agents, diluted according to instructions before spraying. Maintain an action time of 10-15 minutes, then scrub clean. Heavily affected areas may require additional treatments, but avoid excessive use of chemicals.
Wear a safety harness when working at heights and set up warning zones. Provide waterproof protection for electrical equipment. Wear protective gear when using chemicals. Collect and treat cleaning wastewater in compliance with environmental requirements.
Professional cleaning can effectively preserve the appearance of GRC. It is recommended to establish cleaning records documenting each cleaning operation as a reference for future maintenance.
