The production process is the soul of GRC; different process routes directly determine a product's performance orientation, appearance, and scope of application. Through 28 years of technical accumulation and practice, Qinglong GRC has mastered and innovatively applied a variety of mainstream and specialized processes—including spray-up, premix, and mesh laying—and can combine and optimize processes according to specific project requirements to achieve the optimal balance of performance, cost, and effect.
The selection of a process is a science, and even more so an art. In a modern art museum project in Chengdu, the architect required the curtain wall to feature both large areas of flat, smooth surfaces and fine relief textures in localized areas. Qinglong's technical team designed a "composite process" solution for this: the large flat panel sections used an improved premix casting process, with mold-press vibration ensuring extremely high surface flatness (tolerance ±0.8mm/2m) and outstanding impermeability, while the relief art panels used a precision spray-up process that controlled fiber orientation and mortar thickness to perfectly replicate every detail of the sculptor's original work while ensuring the strength of the relief sections. This "adapting the craft to the material" approach gave the building a stunning final visual effect.
This is the most classic process with the best fiber reinforcement effect. Chopped fibers and cement mortar are sprayed simultaneously onto the mold through a specialized spray gun, forming a three-dimensional, randomly distributed fiber network. Its greatest advantages are uniform fiber distribution, the ability to produce complex shapes, and excellent mechanical properties (especially impact resistance and toughness). The drawbacks are relatively low efficiency and high demands on worker skill. Qinglong mainly uses this process for high-specification curtain wall panels, irregular-shaped components, thin-shell structures, and similar products.
Chopped fibers and mortar are pre-mixed evenly in a mixer, then poured into molds and formed through vibration or extrusion. Its advantages are high production efficiency, suitability for large-scale production, good surface quality, and high dimensional accuracy. The drawbacks are limited fiber length (usually no more than 12mm), fiber distribution uniformity slightly inferior to the spray-up process, and relatively lower impact resistance. Qinglong applies this process on a large scale to standardized flat panels, decorative moldings, and other products.
The mesh laying process involves placing continuous fiber mesh fabric within the mortar layer, mainly providing directional reinforcement, and is suitable for flat panels or components with small curvature. Qinglong more often uses this as part of a composite process—for example, laying a layer of mesh fabric within the spray-up process for reinforcement in a specific direction to meet special load-bearing requirements.
For products requiring special textures (such as bush-hammered, lychee, or ribbed finishes), the mold pressing process is used, with textured molds forming the shape in a single step. In addition, Qinglong also masters surface treatment processes such as exposed aggregate, acid washing, and grinding, which can give GRC rich textures imitating stone, metal, wood, and more.
There is no best process, only the most suitable one. Qinglong GRC's powerful process library and flexible combination capabilities enable it to provide customers with all-round solutions from structure to decoration, from realism to artistic expression, precisely translating design creativity into architectural reality.
