UHPC construction requires special attention to key stages such as mix ratio control, mixing process, casting methods, and curing regimes. The quality of control in these stages directly determines the final engineering results.
For mix ratio control, the water-binder ratio must be precisely controlled between 0.18-0.22 with an error of ≤0.02; fiber content is 2%-3%, added in batches to ensure uniform dispersion. In a bridge project in Wuhan, strict mix ratio control kept the UHPC strength dispersion coefficient within 5%. The mixing process requires a forced-action mixer: dry mix for 1 minute first, then add water and mix in batches, with a total time of 4-6 minutes. This process ensures three-dimensional uniform fiber distribution.
Cement, silica fume, and similar materials must be stored with moisture protection and controlled shelf life; fibers must be kept dry and protected from pressure to avoid clumping; admixtures must be stored away from light to prevent deterioration. These measures ensure material performance.
Weighing system accuracy must reach ±0.5%; per-batch error must be controlled within 1%; scales must be calibrated regularly to ensure accuracy. This precision is the foundation of quality.
Material temperature must be controlled at 10-30℃; cooling measures are needed in summer and insulation in winter; discharge temperature must be controlled at 5-35℃. Temperature control affects workability.
Slump and temperature must be tested every work shift; one set of specimens must be reserved per 100 cubic meters; complete inspection records must be established. This system ensures controllable quality.
Construction control needs to be systematic. It is recommended to develop a detailed construction plan and implement it strictly. Qinglong UHPC provides construction guidance services.
