Is the Price Gap Between UHPC Manufacturers Large? An In-Depth Analysis of Market Price Tiers

Price differences in the UHPC market are indeed significant—quotes from different manufacturers can vary by 2-3 times. This gap mainly stems from fundamental differences in material formulations, production processes, and service content. Take Qinglong UHPC as an example: our high-end series products use imported steel fibers and specialty cement, combined with self-developed active admixtures, making material costs over 40% higher than ordinary formulations. However, in the Shanghai Century Plaza light-transmitting UHPC project, the artistic effects and durability demonstrated by this premium material completely outweigh price considerations.

The level of investment in production processes is another key factor. Qinglong's imported vacuum mixing and high-temperature curing systems, while increasing equipment depreciation costs, bring product density above 2.5g/cm³, significantly enhancing mechanical properties. In contrast, manufacturers using simplified processes may quote lower prices, but their products' service life may be only half that of premium UHPC. In the Yangshengtang Pharmaceutical Hangzhou Industrial Park project, we demonstrated to the client the long-term economics of premium products through life-cycle cost analysis.

The completeness of service content is also an important cause of price differences. The full-process service provided by Qinglong includes parametric design, BIM collaboration, and on-site technical guidance—these hidden values are often overlooked in simple price comparisons. In fact, the on-site modification losses avoided through professional services often far exceed the service fees themselves.
