The exceptional performance of UHPC stems from millimeter-level precision in every process step and full-cycle control. As an ultra-high performance concrete, its production is not a simple upgrade of traditional concrete, but a refined process covering multiple stages including batching, mixing, casting, and curing. As a UHPC manufacturer integrating detailed design, production, construction, and installation, Qinglong draws on 28 years of industry experience to provide an in-depth analysis of the complexity of the UHPC production process and its core control points.
I. Core Stages and Technical Barriers of the UHPC Production Process
The complexity of the UHPC production process is first reflected in the batching stage. The proportions of cementitious materials, aggregates, fibers, and admixtures must be precisely calculated according to the product application (such as curtain wall panels, sculptures, and landscape components), with errors controlled within ±1%. Qinglong uses BIM technology for digital formula management, combined with an automated batching system at its 600,000-square-meter production base, to achieve precise delivery of raw materials and avoid errors caused by manual proportioning.
The mixing stage is equally a test of technical strength. Because UHPC has an extremely low water-binder ratio, a high-speed shear mixer must be used, with mixing time extended 3-5 times compared with ordinary concrete to ensure fibers are evenly dispersed without agglomeration. Qinglong's automated mixing line reaches speeds of up to 1500r/min, and through a three-stage mixing process (dry mixing - wet mixing - fiber dispersion), it effectively solves the industry pain point of uneven fiber distribution. The casting stage requires differentiated processes for different shapes: large irregular components use vacuum-assisted casting, while thin-walled components use pressure grouting to ensure compactness. Taking the Shanghai New World Nanjing East Road Century Plaza project as an example, for the 12㎡ extra-large UHPC wood-effect light-transmitting panels, Qinglong adopted custom molds and an embroidery-like manual light-guide rod insertion process, with a production cycle of 15 days per piece—a level of process complexity that ranks among the industry's finest.
II. Curing Process: The Key Finishing Stage That Determines UHPC Performance
Curing is the core stage for enhancing UHPC performance, and its process complexity far exceeds that of ordinary concrete. It involves three stages: pre-curing, steam curing, and post-curing, with temperature and humidity precisely controlled: pre-curing temperature is maintained at 20-25℃, the steam curing temperature gradient is controlled at 5℃/h, the maximum temperature does not exceed 90℃, post-curing humidity is ≥95%, and the curing period is no less than 7 days. Qinglong has established an intelligent curing workshop that monitors temperature and humidity in real time through sensors and automatically adjusts curing parameters, ensuring UHPC compressive strength ≥150MPa and flexural strength ≥25MPa.
In addition, quality testing runs through the entire production process. Qinglong is equipped with comprehensive testing equipment, from incoming raw material inspection (such as fiber tensile strength and aggregate gradation), to in-process testing (such as mix flowability and air content), to finished product testing (such as strength, durability, and appearance dimensions), forming a full-chain quality traceability system.
The complexity of the UHPC production process determines its high demands on technology, equipment, and experience. With 28 years of full-chain experience, Qinglong has built a complete system from formula design and automated production to intelligent curing, successfully overcoming numerous process challenges. For customers pursuing high-quality UHPC products, choosing a manufacturer with mature processes and rich experience is a key guarantee of project success.
