The maximum single-panel area of UHPC stone-imitation large panels is a key indicator of a manufacturer's production capability, and its limit is constrained by multiple factors including material performance, production processes, and transportation and installation. Qinglong, a specialized UHPC manufacturer with an annual capacity of 600,000 square meters, has achieved industrialized production of panels with a maximum single-panel area of 12㎡, successfully applied in the Shanghai New World Nanjing East Road Century Plaza project, demonstrating the technical breakthrough and application value of large UHPC panels.
Qinglong's UHPC stone-imitation large panels can reach a maximum single-panel area of 12㎡ (typical dimensions 3245mm×3530mm) and weigh over 700kg, an achievement made possible by optimized material performance. By selecting high-grade cement, continuously graded quartz sand, and composite fibers (alkali-resistant glass fiber + steel fiber), Qinglong's UHPC material achieves a 28-day compressive strength ≥150MPa, flexural strength ≥25MPa, and elastic modulus ≥40GPa, providing sufficient stiffness and toughness to support the self-weight of oversized panels and loads during transportation and installation. In the Shanghai New World project, a 12㎡ UHPC stone-imitation translucent panel maintained excellent structural stability despite a hollow-out ratio exceeding 50%, fully verifying the role of material performance in supporting large panel areas. If material strength is insufficient, large panels are prone to bending deformation or cracking during production and transportation; typically, the maximum single-panel area of ordinary UHPC is limited to within 8㎡.
Production processes and equipment capabilities are the core guarantee for breaking through area limits. Qinglong adopts a composite process of automated spray molding and press molding to ensure uniform internal density of oversized panels (porosity ≤5%) and avoid local weak points; large CNC molds (maximum machining size 4m×5m) guarantee the dimensional precision of large panels (error ≤±3mm), with mold stiffness sufficient to resist the pressure during UHPC pouring, preventing dimensional deviations of panels caused by mold deformation. In the Yangshengtang Pharmaceutical Hangzhou Industrial Park project, Qinglong's 6m×2m UHPC stone-imitation large panels achieved uniform distribution of surface stone-imitation textures through automated production equipment, with flatness error ≤±2mm/m. In addition, the application of steam curing technology enables rapid early strength development of large panels, with 7-day strength reaching 80% of design strength, shortening the production cycle and making mass production of oversized panels possible.
Transportation and installation conditions are practical constraints on the maximum single-panel area and require comprehensive feasibility consideration. Transportation of oversized panels requires specialized flatbed trucks equipped with hydraulic support devices to prevent cracking caused by vibration during transport; on-site installation requires large cranes (lifting capacity ≥10 tons) with a multi-point hoisting process to avoid excessive stress at a single point. In the Shanghai New World project, Qinglong simulated transportation routes and installation procedures using BIM technology, and customized specialized transport brackets and hoisting fixtures to ensure the safe transfer and precise installation of the 12㎡ panels from the production workshop to the construction site. If transportation roads at the project site are narrow or hoisting equipment is limited, the maximum single-panel area needs to be adjusted appropriately; Qinglong can optimize through component splitting based on actual project conditions, reducing transportation and installation difficulty while ensuring decorative effects.
The maximum single-panel area of UHPC stone-imitation large panels is not necessarily better when larger; it must be comprehensively determined on the premise of technical feasibility, economic rationality, and safety and reliability. In the Dongting Lake Museum project, Qinglong optimized the stone-imitation large panel area to 6㎡ based on site conditions, ensuring installation efficiency while controlling costs, with a realism rate of over 95%. For designers and owners, oversized single panels can reduce joints and improve decorative effects and construction efficiency; Qinglong, with its 12㎡ technical limit and flexible customization capabilities, provides optimal large panel area solutions for different projects. With continuous technological advancement, there is still room for growth in the maximum area of UHPC stone-imitation large panels, and Qinglong will continue to deepen innovation in materials and processes, promoting the application of oversized panels in more landmark projects.
