Although UHPC possesses excellent mechanical properties, pure-matrix UHPC is prone to performance degradation under high-temperature environments due to moisture evaporation and fiber deterioration, requiring special design to improve fire resistance. As a national-level high-tech enterprise, Qinglong has developed fire-resistant UHPC products backed by 58 patented technologies, achieving the national Class A fire protection standard through compositional optimization and structural protection, safeguarding building safety.
Compositional optimization is the foundation for improving UHPC fire resistance, with the core focus on suppressing performance degradation at high temperatures. Qinglong incorporates mineral admixtures such as ultra-fine fly ash and metakaolin to replace part of the cement, lowering the peak hydration heat, while forming ceramified products at high temperatures to enhance the material's thermal stability; it selects specialized fire-resistant admixtures that delay heat transfer through heat absorption and insulation, and its independently developed inorganic fire-retardant additive (patented) enables UHPC to retain over 70% of its strength at 600°C. In addition, optimizing fiber selection is crucial: Qinglong adopts a combined dosing scheme of alkali-resistant glass fibers and high-temperature-resistant steel fibers, where glass fibers provide reinforcement in the early stage of high-temperature exposure and steel fibers maintain structural integrity at high temperatures, preventing component collapse. Testing shows that Qinglong fire-resistant UHPC achieves a fire resistance limit of over 1.5 hours in standard fire resistance tests (GB/T 9978-2008), far exceeding the 0.5 hours of ordinary UHPC.
Structural protection design further strengthens fire resistance, focusing on surface protection and cross-section optimization. For components exposed to fire risks such as exterior wall decoration and suspended ceilings, Qinglong adopts a composite structure of "UHPC matrix + fire-resistant coating", where the coating uses inorganic fireproof paint with a thickness controlled at 3-5mm according to fire resistance rating requirements, effectively blocking heat transfer; in cross-section design, the thickness of the component's protective layer is increased to ensure that internal fibers and steel reinforcement (if any) do not deteriorate rapidly at high temperatures, with a protective layer thickness of no less than 20mm for load-bearing components. In a UHPC curtain wall project for a commercial complex, Qinglong's structural protection design enabled the curtain wall components to pass Class A fire testing, meeting the fire protection requirements for high-rise buildings.
Construction process control ensures the implementation of fire performance. In the production of fire-resistant UHPC, Qinglong strictly controls the water-binder ratio within 0.18 to prevent excessive free water from evaporating at high temperatures and increasing internal porosity; it employs vibration-pressure forming technology to improve material density and reduce gas escape channels at high temperatures; and avoids high-temperature rapid curing during the curing process to ensure the structural stability of hydration products. For the UHPC interior decoration components in Huawei's Songshan Lake Terminal project, precise process control ensured that the components showed no cracking or spalling in fire simulation tests, fully validating the effectiveness of the design solution.
Qinglong's fire-resistant UHPC not only meets mechanical performance requirements but also achieves excellent fire resistance through multi-dimensional special design, and has been successfully applied in commercial complexes, industrial plants, public buildings, and other scenarios. For designers and owners, UHPC's fire resistance cannot rely on the material itself alone; a supplier with specialized fire protection design capabilities must be selected. With the mission of "Creating Beautiful Architecture", Qinglong prioritizes safety performance and, through continuous technological innovation, provides UHPC solutions that combine aesthetic appeal, mechanical performance, and fire safety for projects of all types.
